Upload a photo to remove its location and camera metadata.
It redraws the photo pixel-by-pixel onto a blank canvas and re-exports it as a new image file. Canvas re-encoding only captures the pixels themselves — EXIF data like GPS location, camera model and timestamp isn't part of the pixel data, so it doesn't carry over.
Everything embedded outside the pixel data: GPS location, camera make/model, timestamp, orientation flags and any other EXIF or XMP fields a photo might carry.
It re-encodes at 95% quality, which is visually lossless for almost all photos, though a JPEG re-encode is technically a fresh compression pass rather than a byte-for-byte copy.
