WeVividWeVividCheck a URL's redirect chain and final HTTP status.
Browsers block a webpage from reading another site's redirect responses across origins, for security reasons. This check runs through a small WeVivid server endpoint instead, which fetches the URL, follows redirects one hop at a time, and returns the status codes — the URL itself is not stored anywhere.
301 and 308 are permanent redirects, 302 and 307 are temporary, 200 means the page loaded directly with no redirect, and 4xx/5xx codes mean the request failed or the page errored.
Each extra hop adds latency and can dilute ranking signals slightly. A clean, single-hop redirect (or none at all) to the final URL is generally best practice.
