Convert a Unix timestamp to a human-readable date and time, or a date back to epoch seconds and milliseconds, with the current timestamp live.
It's the number of seconds (or milliseconds) that have passed since 1 January 1970, 00:00:00 UTC — the 'epoch'. It's used across programming languages to represent a point in time as a single number.
A timestamp in seconds has 10 digits for dates around now; one in milliseconds has 13. This tool detects the length automatically.
It compares the converted timestamp to the current time on your device, so a past date shows 'ago' and a future date shows 'from now'.
